Free encryption check: your file never leaves your device
The Office Analyzer on this site (the tool that reads your file's format header and encryption type before you decide anything) runs entirely in your browser using the JavaScript File API. Nothing is uploaded at this stage — no file contents, passwords, or metadata are transmitted or stored anywhere.
Starting a recovery: your file is uploaded
This is different. Once you submit your Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file for a free eligibility check or a paid recovery, the file itself is uploaded to our secure processing infrastructure so it can actually be attacked — this step does leave your device. Uploaded files are encrypted at rest, used solely to attempt recovery of your own file, automatically deleted within 24 hours, and never shared with third parties or used to build a password database.
Information We Collect
The free local analyzer collects nothing — it never talks to a server. If you go on to start a recovery job, we receive the file you submit and the email address you provide for status updates and result delivery, plus standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, page visited, and timestamp.
How Recovery Uploads Are Used
Submitted files are used only for password recovery, status tracking, preview generation where applicable, and result delivery, as described above. Files are not sold or shared with advertisers.
Payment Processing
Paid recovery releases are billed through third-party payment processors — WayForPay for card payments, PayPal, and select cryptocurrency payment providers. Your card, PayPal, or wallet details are entered directly with and handled by those processors; we do not receive or store your payment credentials. See our Refund Policy for refund terms.
Cookies & Analytics
This site may use analytics and operational cookies to understand traffic patterns, device types, and performance. This data is used to improve the service and monitor reliability.

Data Retention
The free local analyzer retains nothing, since no file is ever uploaded for that step. Files submitted for a recovery are automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing, as described above.

You may use this site only for files you own or are explicitly authorized to access. Typical valid use includes recovering access to your own Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files.
Prohibited Use
You may not use this site to access files you do not own or are not authorized to access, to bypass lawful restrictions without permission, or to engage in any activity illegal in your jurisdiction.
No Guarantee for Modern Password Strength
Old Office 97-2003 guaranteed recovery applies only to qualifying legacy formats and encryption. Modern Office success rates depend heavily on password quality and are not guaranteed.
